Foodhub and OrdFox both give a takeaway its own online ordering. The difference is in the package around it: Foodhub bundles rented EPOS hardware and a listing on its consumer marketplace, for a weekly fee. OrdFox is your own ordering site and app, with published monthly plans.
What Foodhub does well
Foodhub is a big operation. According to RTÉ, it works with over 30,000 restaurants and takeaways in Ireland, the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand, and handles more than 65 million orders a year. In October 2025 it announced it was moving its global headquarters to Dublin, with more than 35 new jobs.
Its package is broad: a website, a branded mobile app, an EPOS system, self-service kiosks and its own consumer marketplace. For an owner who wants one supplier for the till and the online orders, and a weekly fee that doesn’t grow with each order, that’s a real advantage.
What it costs
Foodhub doesn’t publish its Irish prices. What is public, checked on 6 October 2026:
| Item | What we found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | A fixed weekly fee, not a commission on each order | RTÉ, October 2025 |
| Weekly payments | “Rental Payments” by standing order or direct debit; amount on your Agreement Form | Foodhub IE terms, cl. 6.1 |
| Equipment | Hired to you; stays Foodhub’s property | Foodhub IE terms, cl. 3.1, 8.3 |
| Setup fee | Refundable only if you end the contract within the initial 4 months | Foodhub IE terms, cl. 6.7 |
| Reported example | £89 a month, with a charge added to customers’ orders (UK, 2024) | UK Business Forums |
| Current offer (UK page) | “2 Months FREE EPOS Rental” | Foodhub partner page |
Ask for the full weekly amount in writing, including equipment, card processing and any charge added to your customers’ orders, so you can compare like with like.
The contract
Foodhub’s published Irish terms set out the structure clearly:
- Initial period: 4 months (clause 5.1).
- After that: the contract continues on a rolling 12-month basis (clause 5.1).
- To end it: at least 30 days’ written notice, expiring on the last day of the initial period or of the current 12-month period (clause 11.1).
In practice, if you miss the end of the initial period, your next exit date is up to 12 months away. Note your dates in the calendar the day you sign.
Questions to ask Foodhub before you sign or renew
- What is the total weekly payment, and what does it cover: website, app, EPOS, card terminal, kiosk?
- Is any charge added to my customers’ orders, and how much?
- What are my exact dates: the end of the initial period and each 12-month renewal?
- Who owns my domain and my app listing if I leave?
- What happens to the equipment, and is there a cost to return it?
Written answers to these make any comparison, with OrdFox or anyone else, much easier.
When OrdFox fits better
- You want published prices. OrdFox plans start from €45 a month billed annually (€59 monthly), ex. VAT, on a 12-month agreement. Setup is tailored and quoted before you commit. See pricing.
- You’d rather not hire equipment. OrdFox’s ordering site, dashboard and kitchen screen run in a web browser, so you can use a tablet or computer you choose. The kitchen screen is part of the Complete plan.
- You want your customers on your site, not a marketplace. Your ordering site shows only your menu, on your own domain, and card payments go into your own Stripe account.
- You deliver yourself. Driver dispatch and live tracking are included in every plan.
- You’d like support in English or Portuguese.
Foodhub is the better fit if you want kiosks, a full EPOS supplied and serviced by one company, or a marketplace listing as part of the deal.
How to switch
- Find your dates. The end of your initial period, or your current 12-month period, and the 30-day notice before it.
- Book a call with us and bring your current menu link. We’ll agree how your menu is moved over and when.
- Run OrdFox alongside Foodhub until your notice date, and move your domain and links when you’re ready.
- Send written notice in time, and return the equipment as your agreement says.

Frequently asked questions
Does Foodhub charge commission?
Foodhub says it charges restaurants a fixed weekly fee rather than a percentage of each order, as reported by RTÉ in October 2025. The weekly amount is set on each restaurant's Agreement Form and isn't published. One UK takeaway owner reported paying £89 a month in 2024, with a charge added to customers' orders.
How long is a Foodhub contract in Ireland?
Foodhub's published Irish terms set an initial period of 4 months, after which the contract continues on a rolling 12-month basis. To end it, you give at least 30 days' written notice, timed to expire at the end of the initial period or of the current 12-month period (checked on 6 October 2026).
Can I keep my Foodhub EPOS while I move to OrdFox?
The equipment is hired from Foodhub and stays its property, under its terms. You can run OrdFox alongside it until your notice date, then return the equipment as your agreement requires. We plan the switch-over date with you.
Will customers see other takeaways on my OrdFox ordering site?
No. Your OrdFox ordering site and iOS app show only your restaurant's menu, on your own domain. OrdFox doesn't run a consumer marketplace.
