Delivery app commission calculator for Irish restaurants

See what marketplace commission costs you a year, and what moving some of those orders to your own ordering channel could save — after the cost of an OrdFox plan.

What the apps cost you

Marketplaces are good at finding new customers. But your regulars already know you — and every time they order through an app, you pay for them again.

How the calculation works

  1. Marketplace commission per year = orders per week × 52 × average order value × commission rate.
  2. Commission on moved orders = the same, for the share of orders you move to your own channel.
  3. Potential saving = commission on moved orders − the OrdFox plan price for 12 months (monthly billing, the higher price, to stay conservative).
  4. The result is before payment processing. Card processing and platform fees are set out in your agreement.

Assumes 52 weeks a year and that moved orders keep the same value. Excludes VAT on marketplace commission and your own delivery costs. Rounded to the nearest €10.

Questions owners ask us

Why doesn't the calculator include OrdFox's per-order fee?

The result is shown before payment processing, because card processing and platform fees depend on your agreement. We'll go through the full figures for your volume on the call.

Should I include VAT on the commission?

The calculator leaves VAT out. Marketplaces usually add VAT to their commission; if you're not VAT-registered, that's an extra cost on top of these figures.

What share of orders can I realistically move?

It depends on how many of your orders come from regulars. Start low — 10% to 30% — and see what a QR code in every bag and a link on your social profiles can do.
