GloriaFood shutdown

GloriaFood Is Closing on 30 April 2027: A Step-by-Step Migration Plan for Irish Takeaways

GloriaFood shuts down on 30 April 2027. What to export (menu, photos, customers), how to keep your Google and website links, and a plan that avoids the Christmas rush.

GloriaFood closes for good on 30 April 2027. Oracle has confirmed there will be no extensions. After that date the “See menu & order” button on your website, your Facebook ordering and any GloriaFood branded app stop taking orders. If you pay for online card payments, that add-on can stop earlier, at your last 30-day renewal in April. This week, do one thing: export your menu, photos, customer list and order reports. Then pick a replacement and switch in a quiet month — November or January, not December.

Last checked: 6 October 2026. Dates and quotes come from Oracle’s official GloriaFood FAQ (March 2026) and the GloriaFood website. Prices of alternatives can change; each one is linked in the sources.

What exactly is happening to GloriaFood

The official notice

Oracle owns GloriaFood. In its GloriaFood EOL Frequently Asked Questions (version 1.0, March 2026) it says:

“Oracle will End-Of-Life (“EOL”) all Oracle GloriaFood products and services and its partner program effective April 30, 2027.”

And, on whether you can stay longer:

“Extensions beyond the EOL Date are not possible because GloriaFood services will no longer be available after the EOL Date.”

The GloriaFood home page carries the same message: “GloriaFood will reach end of life on April 30, 2027.” Oracle no longer signs new direct customers. New restaurants can only join through GloriaFood resellers, and only until the end date.

It covers everything: the free and paid online ordering, the GloriaFood POS (with its hardware) and Oracle Payment.

Oracle points to FoodAmigos — what that means for you

The GloriaFood home page mentions FoodAmigos, “a restaurant technology provider”, with onboarding resources for GloriaFood customers who choose to move there. Oracle’s own FAQ, though, says it “cannot recommend specific third-party providers”.

So FoodAmigos is one option among many. It isn’t an official migration path, and there is no official tool that moves your menu to another system. Whoever you pick, you or your new provider rebuild the menu from your data.

What stops working, and when

Date What happens
Now No new direct GloriaFood accounts. Branded websites, branded apps, the POS and Oracle Payment can no longer be bought.
Until about 31 March 2027 Renewals and new paid add-ons are accepted “up to one month prior to the EOL Date”.
1–30 April 2027 Paid add-ons (for example online card payments, on 30-day terms) end at your last renewal date. Oracle’s example: renew on 3 March 2027 and the service ends on 3 April 2027.
30 April 2027 Everything ends: the website button, Facebook ordering and the branded app stop taking orders. The free tier also ends here.
30 days later Last chance to retrieve your data.

The line most owners miss is the April one. If customers pay by card online through GloriaFood, they may lose that option for several weeks before the final date. Plan to be live elsewhere by the end of March 2027 at the latest.

Export everything first (before you choose anything)

Do this now, whatever you decide. It costs nothing and protects you if a deadline slips. The menu paths below are the ones published by Fleksa in May 2026; labels can differ slightly in your account.

Your menu: Setup → Menu Editor → Export (CSV)

The CSV holds categories, items, descriptions, prices, sizes and option groups. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets and check that the sizes and extras are there. Keep a PDF or photos of your printed menu as a backup too, along with your allergen information.

Your photos: they are not in the CSV

Menu photos don’t come with the export. Save them one by one from the Menu Editor (right-click, save image), or find the originals from your photographer, website or phone. Many takeaways have few or no photos on GloriaFood, which is fine. A move is a good moment to add three or four good ones for your best sellers.

Your customer list, and who you are allowed to email

Export the list from Marketing → Customers → Export (CSV). Having the list is not the same as being allowed to market to it. In Ireland, email and SMS marketing falls under the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. 336 of 2011), and the Data Protection Commission explains the rules:

  • Customers who opted in to marketing: you can tell them about your new ordering site.
  • Existing customers who didn’t opt in: you can only email them if all of these are true. You got their email when you sold them food. The message is about your own similar products. They were given a clear way to opt out when you collected the email, and in every message. And you contact them within 12 months of the sale.
  • Everyone else: tell them at their next order — a note in the bag, on the receipt, on your website and on Google.

When in doubt, use the last option. It’s slower, but it’s safe.

Order history and reports

Export your orders from Reports → Orders, a period at a time, and save the end-of-day reports you rely on. Revenue requires businesses to keep their records for six years. GloriaFood reports won’t be the whole of your accounts, but if they support your sales figures, keep them with the rest.

Delivery zones, fees and opening hours

These usually can’t be exported. Take screenshots of Setup → Delivery (zones, minimum order, fees), your opening hours, preparation times and promo codes. A new provider will need exactly this information, and screenshots are faster than remembering.

The menu is the easy part. The hard part is that your old ordering link is in more places than you remember. Make a list now and tick each one off on switch day:

Place What to change
Your website The “See menu & order” button (a GloriaFood script). Ask your web designer, or use a plain link to your new ordering site.
Facebook page The “Order food” / “Start order” button and any pinned posts.
Google Business Profile The order and menu links on your listing.
Instagram The link in your bio and any link stickers in Highlights.
QR codes Stickers on the counter, window, tables, delivery bags.
Flyers and menus Printed leaflets with the old link or QR code. Reprint before your next drop.
Regular customers Saved bookmarks and the shared FoodBooking app. Tell them in the bag and on social.

Tip: if your website is your own domain, point a simple address such as yourtakeaway.ie/order to the new system. Next time you change anything, you only update that one redirect.

The Irish timing: November or January, never December

For many Irish takeaways December is peak season: office parties, nights in, and the week between Christmas and New Year. It’s the worst time to learn a new tablet or reprint flyers. Mid-March brings St Patrick’s weekend. Here is a calm plan that finishes with weeks to spare:

When What to do
Oct 2026 (now) Export menu, photos, customers, reports. Screenshot delivery zones and hours. Make your link checklist.
Early Nov 2026 Compare two or three replacements. Ask the questions below. Get prices in writing.
Mid Nov 2026 New system set up with your menu. Check every price, size and allergen. Set up card payments.
Late Nov 2026 Run both side by side for a week. Place test orders. Train staff on the new tablet or kitchen screen.
By 30 Nov 2026 Switch the button on your website, Facebook, Google and Instagram.
Dec 2026 Trade. Change nothing.
Jan–Feb 2027 If you didn’t switch in November, this is your second window. Reprint QR codes and flyers.
March 2027 Last safe month. Cancel GloriaFood paid add-ons so they don’t renew.
April 2027 Card payments may stop at your last renewal. On 30 April, everything stops.

What a replacement really costs (honest: free was free)

GloriaFood’s basic ordering was free, and its paid add-ons were cheap: US$29 a month for online card payments and US$19 a month for Advanced Promo Marketing, according to its pricing page. Any full replacement will cost more. The question is what you get for it.

Option (Ireland) Monthly price, ex. VAT Setup Per-order cost
Square Online (free plan) €0; paid plans from €25+ Do it yourself Card fee 1.4% + 25c for EEA cards
Cornerly €69 / €99 / €169 €295 one-off Not charged per order, according to its site
Flipdish from €49 (annual) or €69 (monthly); €79/€99 with app Quoted by sales Not published on its price page
OrdFox from €45 (annual) or €59 (monthly), on a 12-month agreement Tailored and quoted before you commit A per-order platform fee for online card payments, which includes card processing. It’s set out in your agreement.

Prices checked on 6 October 2026, from each provider’s own Irish page (see sources). A self-service builder is cheapest but you rebuild everything yourself. A managed service costs more and someone does the setup with you. Use our commission calculator to compare any of these with what the delivery apps take.

10 questions to ask any replacement

  1. Does card money go into my own Stripe or bank account, or is it held and paid out to me later?
  2. When are payouts made, and in euro?
  3. Can I use my own drivers, and can customers track them live? Is that included or an add-on?
  4. How long is the contract, does it renew automatically, and how much notice do I give to leave?
  5. Who rebuilds my menu — me or you? Do you start from my GloriaFood export or link?
  6. How are allergens shown on the online menu, and who writes them?
  7. What does setup cost, and is it quoted in writing before I sign?
  8. Can I keep my website and domain, or must I use yours?
  9. Who answers when something breaks on a Friday night, and how?
  10. Can I run it side by side with GloriaFood before I switch the button?

How a move to OrdFox works

  1. Send us your GloriaFood link — your website with the button, or your ordering page. We import your menu, with sizes, options and photos, and you get it back running on OrdFox within 24 hours to review. The migration is free and done for you.
  2. Check it. You go through prices, extras and allergens and we fix anything you flag.
  3. Test side by side. GloriaFood stays on while you place test orders. Nothing changes for customers yet.
  4. Switch the links. We replace your ordering link on your website, Facebook, Instagram and Google, and give you new QR codes.

What you get: an ordering website on your own domain; card payments paid into your own Stripe account; driver dispatch and live tracking, included; a kitchen screen; an iOS app on the Professional plan (Android coming soon); and automatic customer messages — emails and notifications to your own customers, such as “order again” reminders. That is not Google or Meta ads management. Setup and support come from real people, in English and Portuguese.

Plans start at €45 a month on annual billing (€59 monthly), ex. VAT, on a 12-month agreement. See what’s in each plan, the side-by-side comparison with GloriaFood, or go straight to the GloriaFood migration page and send your link.

Frequently asked questions

When does GloriaFood shut down?

Oracle has confirmed that all GloriaFood products end on 30 April 2027, with no extensions. Paid add-ons such as online card payments can stop earlier, between 1 and 30 April 2027, depending on the date of your last 30-day renewal. The free ordering tier stays on until 30 April 2027.

Will GloriaFood keep my data after 30 April 2027?

Only briefly. Oracle's official FAQ says you can retrieve your data for 30 days after your services expire or are cancelled. Plan as if nothing will be there after that, and export your menu, photos, customer list and order reports well before the deadline.

Do my menu photos come with the menu export?

No. The menu CSV holds names, categories, prices and options, but not the photos. Save them one by one from the Menu Editor, or reuse the originals from your website, your photographer or your phone.

Can I email all my GloriaFood customers about my new ordering site?

Only those who gave marketing consent, or existing customers who meet the ePrivacy exception: you sold them food, the message is about your own similar products, they could opt out when you collected their email and in every message, and you contact them within 12 months of their last order. Tell everyone else at their next order.

How long does a move away from GloriaFood take?

Rebuilding the menu takes days. Allow two to four weeks in total to test ordering, set up card payments and update every link. Do it in November or in January–February, not in December, and finish well before April 2027.
